Rick Simpson oil cures cancer! Applying a few drops of oil on lesions has turned Western medicine into an irrelevant farce! Or is it? I don't think I encountered such bombastic and unsubstantiated claims in any other cannabis related topic more than RSO.

So who's Rick? And what is Simpson?

Besides having a name that reminds me of an old porn star with a mustache that went out of fashion a few decades ago, Rick Simpson is a Canadian citizen, that was diagnosed with carcinoma type skin cancer in 2003, which led him to create cannabis based oil of his own design, after surgical treatment was not sufficient. Simpson claimed he managed to treat and cure himself of cancer using this very potent and concentrated cannabis oil, the idea for it flashed into his mind after he read that certain dosages of THC in rats, managed to slow the growth of skin cancer under laboratory conditions, and started conducting experiments on his own.

So what is special about Rick Simpson's cannabis oil?

Rick Simpson oil is based on very potent and high THC concentrations ranging between 60%-90%. This is why it is not recommended to smoke or inhale it, only to use it primarily for local use.

How different is RSO from cannabis oil?

Let us start with the similarities, both are oils extracted from the cannabis sativa plant, but their ingredients differ in levels and concentrations, they're both a product of a full spectrum plant, that contains a wide range of materials the plant has to offer. The difference? is the indication, that RSO isolates cannabinoids to create very potent levels in order to fight cancer cells and growth, which is why it is exposed to higher temperatures of heat than standard cannabis oil to further concentrate the THC, which burns in the process terpenes and other matters, while other cannabis oils benefit the survivability of these ingredients - and thus enjoy the entourage effect and its benefits.

What is the evidence of RSO curing skin cancer?

One of the pieces of evidence presented is an old one, and dates back to the 1970's, under laboratory conditions, THC slowed cancer cell growth. Another study contradicts the claim and found that THC INCREASED the growth rate of certain cancer cells (lung and brain). [1] [2] Numerous current studies determined that cannabis oil (unlike RSO) is safe for cancer patients to use, but it remains uncertain as to how exactly cannabis treats, reduces, or kills cancer cells. [3]

Can Rick Simpson oil cause side effects?

With such high and potent THC content, one can assume that individuals can experience a number of side effects, such as:

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Bloodshot eyes
  • Heart palpitations
  • Anxious and paranoia feeling
  • Decreased motor skills and concentration

Of course, these side effects differ from person to person, and the average treatment course suggested is only 12 weeks.

How to make Rick Simpson oil yourself?

You'd think an oil that claims to cure skin cancer would be under patent worth billions of dollars, but no! It is out there, on the dark net, with visual videos. [4]

How to use Rick Simpson oil?

The best method of using RSO oil, is either locally, via the digestion system, or under the tongue, Rick himself used the oil only on local cancer lesions on the skin, but you can get the same effects via other methods. But since this oil is so potent, it is better to start with the most minimal and low dosage, how much? A bean or rice for starters, you can adjust by the influence. What about smoking and vaping? The recommendation is to avoid this, it wasn't the main intent of the crater, for good reasons, the adverse effects of this very potent THC oil might be too much to stomach, don't say we didn't warn you.
